Club 38"
Last Thursday,
G's 4 bridesmaids met for the first time to view our sketches and this is what Jade sketched for each of us according to personality and what we like :) think Gina wanted us to be excited and be more "involved" with the wedding prep and i'm real excited cos i actually get to own a TTMD dress too!
P's been sick with "contagious" tonsillitis so I insisted she wore a mask haha and she said I was discriminating against the weak! Anyway, the sweetheart turned up sans mask with a tray of freshly baked foccacia stuffed with pesto& truffle oil to shut me up hahaha. everyone got to enjoy her bread, which has improved from the previous time( at least it was soft), tasted so good but still not quite there yet to kuku's standard. ( who would have thought making bread is so hard?)
we sat down for 2 long hours, I was half expecting us to be done in an hour .. it was then did I see & experience how Jade was very patient & animated with all of us, listening very attentively to our whims and needs even though it was a Thursday evening after a long day.
My dress is the one right at the bottom with the off shoulder, it was actually a bustier dress, but I commented it was a little "prom" and she extended the lines across the shoulder and it turned into an off-shoulder piece hehehe quite easily done ! but what a difference those lines make :)
G decided on Grey and we're doing it in different shades of grey, dove grey, ash grey, whichever suited our skin tones best. it was actually really hard to decide on the colour! Do we match the bus? do we match the flowers? do we wear yellow?? do we match the groomsmen? Not sure how grey became the colour but i guess Lishan's dress ( the longest one) would look kinda tacky in bright hues and we really wanted her to look goddess-like in hers and not stand out too much and of course be able to re-wear the dress after the wedding. The design of my dress probably suited any colour cos it was so bridesmaidsy, Gina then commented " oh Sarah is always very easy" she was referring to the versatility of the dress but that came out so wrong! LOL :)
The funniest part was taking our measurements, our heights ranged between 155cm - 171cm but all 4 of us had the same bum measurements! haha our HIPS sure DON'T LIE!
12th March is D DAY! Gina gets to see 2 mock-ups of the dress and I can't wait to see them both!

claud's 30th!
since claud was feeling the big 3-0... we had a small gathering at lantern... the chocolate cake was yummy and the weather, bloody warm. the wind and breeze decided to not to be coorperative and everyone especially i was sweating bucket load. wearing my 5 inch heels, i looked as if i was towering over the lovely birthday girl and all our photos with shiny sweaty faces :)

my first kitchen tea party
as clueless as usual, i decided to fly in a week before samadhi's wedding to join her kitchen tea party/bachelorette party. what i didn't know what that at a tea party, you're to give the bride a good recipe that you've used before for her collection in her bid to be a good wife :) it was a great gathering of her friends as well as mom's friends all being very enthusiastic about everything making the day a joyous one.
The Amazing House:
The knicknacks & food (all home made):
the afternoon was great... copious amount of food and drinks. and everyone was just gathering around to celebrate the fact that Samadhi was getting married soon. the games were very well planned by Krissy and trust me, the amount of time, work and energy she put into the day, even i was amazed. the enthusiasm and friendliness of everyone just made the afternoon of games go by filled with lots of laughter and friendly competitive streaks
then came nightfall.... shortly after the soon-to-be-mother-in-law left, that's when the party started
samadhi's outfit for the night was an old gown and veil she thrifted in PNG and got her grandma to take it in for her which turned out absolutely gorgeous. we first had more food at one of noosa's restaurants filled with rather old ladies in tight dresses then it was off to the only other night club in the area
xp
The Amazing House:
with a fantastic view... when i first arrived, i was greeted by a pair of colourful parrots too! too bad they flew away before i could take the camera out

The Girls:
The Games Host+Helper:
one of the games included a fashion show of bridal gowns made out of toilet paperthe afternoon was great... copious amount of food and drinks. and everyone was just gathering around to celebrate the fact that Samadhi was getting married soon. the games were very well planned by Krissy and trust me, the amount of time, work and energy she put into the day, even i was amazed. the enthusiasm and friendliness of everyone just made the afternoon of games go by filled with lots of laughter and friendly competitive streaks

lets just say the games got a lot more R-rated... :) then it was off for a night out in town
after a full day of activities, this was our absolute last picture of the night

melbourne
every year i try to make a trip down to melbourne to eat, drink, shop and make merry with all my friends there and every year without fail, i always fall in love with that city. last year i managed to stay for easter weekend, unfortunately due to scheduling, i'll miss it this year :( but even then, this year's 5 days there was amazing as always.
jo moved away from their main street and now is in fitzroy... i had my reservations but it turned out to be an amazing apt with tons of food n my newly found favourite jewellery store just down the road. fitzroy was a great move and jo's now so much happier - closer to work, great cafe everywhere etc etc
as with all my travels, i had my cravings all fixed.... including pho on russell street n a great burger - from a burger joint just opposite jo's place
as jo was working, he was really sweet to get up and have breakfast with me everyday... and as when in melb, good coffee was everywhere in fitzroy! and of course awesome breakfast including flaky croissants which for some reason, i've not found a baker in sg who's able to do so now :(
and of course the other highlight of this trip was that jo finally got his 3d printer working! it was absolutely amazing! after years of procrastination, he's gotten round to making it work and i got my birthday present from it :)
jo took a sickie on wed to go to the galleries with me and it was a great, easy day out. in many ways melb reminds me of parts of LA which was great... since jo now lives in fitzroy, i was forced to walk around that area. i know that it's not that far from town, but it was suppose to be a relaxing trip so i mainly stayed within 15mins walk of the apt during the day. brunswick street is so similar to West LA, i couldn't help but miss it
my last nite was great as we took it really easy, met up with marn, wilson and claud had my last pho then off to crown to watch hunger games where i had my first choc top
then it was off back home to have very well made cosmos :)
