BKK April & Sept 2011 ( the long and short of it)

Unlike the boys, when we think of bangkok , we see it as a capital of awesome food, nailart, massages , friendly people and girly shopping. We skipped ekamai and thonglor and focused on very specific items for our short trip in May.
We spent whole of Friday with Pris' Kuku at the school and at home, watching the royal wedding & enjoyed home-made food by Pris's Ku. Saturday and Sunday were precious days and time was spent trawling the malls & ooh-ing at creative and fancy window displays.

We really miss Suanlum Night Bazaar , it was one of our fav shopping haunts at night and we're so sad it's no longer around :(

Thai designers are an amazing lot, they  have soooo much to offer in Siam Centre , Gaysorn Plaza & even within the department shops :)
Heck even lingerie is cheaper and the stores have them in much wider variety too!

One splendid find in May was a shop called Jelly Dreams ( Gaysorn!) which stocked Vivienne Westwood x Melissa heels! Approx $168SGD per pair as compared to $268 sold in Tyan stores *whee*

As for food, we have a ritual of foodie places to go if we stop by in BKK:

thai chinese style street side noodles// Boat noodles by Provence cafe ( Peninsula Plaza) // Vanilla Cafe (Thonglor or Siam Paragaon)  // iBerry // Kuppa

For longer trips, we'll throw in Emporium // MBK foodcourt// Greyhound cafe // Talingpling //
and definitely Massage!

Between May & Sept, so many things happened but I'll just focus on Bangkok first :)

1st-5th September'11 trip to BKK was an impromptu one, Gina needed a break cos her birthday was next in line and the pre-26 jitters were hitting her.
I just turned freelance , so why not?

It was perhaps one of the most satisfying trips cos all 3 of us overdosed on shopping and eating,
including visiting our favourite nail shop called "Kae Kai" where it's nail art insanity turned reality by 2 sisters.

tweed & cotton jacket by Senada, smooched and arriving in March :)
p's aunty's home made quiche brings out the worst in us

 hey udon!

thanks, bangkok, for having so much to offer :) till the next time!

hello friends

We were on the plane to Bangkok last Sept to celebrate my breakaway from the daytrading bubble when P wanted to know why  I stopped on camerabandits.

It was simply because smooch emails took up so much of my time after the move to smooch.com.sg, I barely had time to shower haha!
Then there was sarahnmery.tumblr.com , but Mery also got busy with her family business in JKT which is flourishing and requires so much of her time as well :/
With the contribution of my 2 silly BFFs,  here's a little insight of what we do with our precious weekends and perk up our weekdays in the office with.

Backtracking to the night before I quit, which happened to be my 26th birthday,
I was presented with a pretty messed up cake.
e
"Happy Birthday ARAH!"

Much better like this :)

It was a lovely lovely surprise and I have to thank P & G for getting this beautiful cake
from Pang (Antoinette)

Over an enjoyable dinner at Salt Grill & Sky Bar, gathered votes from the family and the 2 girls and decided it was worth a try to focus on just the blogshop. the hardest part was saying goodbye to trading which I enjoyed every minute.

mummy otter and our oysters

did you know otters sleep holding paws to keep from drifting apart while they sleep?

on top of spoiling me with a beautiful cake, they presented me the YSL ovalarty ring in pinkkkk!
Speaking of rings, and there's G in her engagement ring.
she was proposed to on the 26th of JUNE'2011 haha so we're in the midst of prepping for her wedding :) Fun-ness for P & me haha!

it was a weekday night and these girls make every birthday so happy & fun,
it kinda takes the pain of turning a year older away haha

bangkok pilgrimage up next!
