what kind of girl are you?

i'm home nursing a tummy flu & before i know it, half the day is over. s will be updating on her h&m/marni shopping experience soon i'm sure but while on that topic, i'm just wondering... what kind of girl are you? clothing aside.... where else do you/i spend the most $$ on? i'm just thinking about it... i guess for me, i'd say in order of preference - jewellery, shoes, bags. i'd like to say for gina it'd be - shoes, bag, jewellery and sarah it'll be - bags, shoes jewellery.

the valentino slingbacks... not necessarily red in colour but i'm in love with the ribbon... now to find a money growing tree... hmmmm

as for bags/clutch... i havent found anything in particular recently that i've got to have... but my love for bottega will always be there. next up...

any one of these would totally make me very happy ha

as you can see, i tend to like the really painful, statement pieces and trust me, the bunds on my feet, shoes in the closet coz it hurts walking in them, pain in my neck etc are all things i have to endure. but like edward monkton says...

it's a date

it's 12midnight and i've been stuck all week doing accounts! haha not the best part of the job but it's a great time to figure out where the biz is going and how else i can better it 

i'm also ignoring the priscilla's whiny text whatsapp msgs , 

 shall reply them in the morning while i attempt to queue for Marni for H&M 

yeap, bloggers and celebrities get them for free, while mere mortals like myself have to strategise and think very carefully on what i want :X
pris told me the queue will be given coloured bracelets to indicate the time when we're allowed to enter H&M,  10min slots in the shops with a 1pc/design policy, do they honestly think people will be done in 10 mins?

i can buy 2 fabulous necklaces from Marni with that amount of money

sigh, anywhere i'll just leave it to fate.

and the girls have summarised their want list from high to low priority. so that would be  my mission impossible in less than 6 hrs!

& why i really wanted to blog was cos i really wanted to re-post ms ferragni's pictures.

i've crushed on her for the longest time. even attempted to buy shoes from her debut shoe label ( the blue one with the ombre heel) but failed to find my size. 

love the feeling of "catching up" on those few famed blogs, 

it's like stalkerville but the gawking kind.

both are baby blue/ periwinkle shades but the texture of her outfit..

our fav french bistro

since g was unable to make it out on my birthday... i had to reschedule our bi-yearly le bistrot du sommelier dinner. and as always, their reservations are chock-a-block and we had to wait yet another 2 weeks before getting it. it's our favourite restaurant but since we rarely get our act together 2 weeks in advance, it's mainly kept to twice a year which is a shame really.

i think i'm done with food entries for awhile... ever since sunday, my whole body's still reeling from food but not so much alcohol which is quite surprising. so at this time, the sight of food doesn't excite me as much as it use to. so sad...
we'll see how long this will last

an out of this world brunch

over sunday, 2 of my good friends and i decided to try out the legendary ritz carlton super brunch... this time around the guest chef was chef Pascal Barbot from 3 Michelin star restaurant l'Astrance in Paris. it's such an event, that we had to pre-book, pre-pay in advance and we were sent the 7pages of menu... yes all 7 pages of it.... just looking thru it, lance, janice and myself were just wondering in amazement at how we can possibly eat thru everything and still consume enough 2002 vintage moet rose to make our money's worth.

as the day approached... strategies from starving ourselves to gorging ourselves to bringing a doggy bag to stretching half an hour before were thrown out as suggestions.

it was really rather exciting!

then the 4th of march arrived....
ritz carlton had turned into a foodies' heaven... it was as if i had walked into willie wonka's house as well as a cooked food equivalent's house. the options were limitless... and we spent the first 30mins just walking arnd in pure amazement

starting off with just the dessert section first:

a great display of pate and cold cuts

 an amazing piece of beef... which tasted just as awesome

 really pretty presentation of quail... unfortunately they were rather dried out

80 cheeses

a bowl of full of truffles as part of the salad bar

 when we weren't busy eating or drinking...

finally after 3 crazy hours... defeat

the handy rubber-band

i don't have a habit of preparing my outfits ,more like the last minute girl who walks into a shop and just shop off the racks.

so i'll do silly stuff like pin brooches, safety-pin dresses that are too wide and stuff 
cos' it's probably too late to head to Molly's ( our lovely swift tailor auntie at Serangoon Gardens)

but most importantly, 
the goal is to wear the chosen dress  by hook or by crook or by whatever possible means available in my little drawer.
i have even tried using earrings as a substitute for brooches but it's a little painful though.

so with this embellished shift dress which was originally a little too wide & rendering me shapeless,
 i used a rubber band to gather the cloth at the hip area and  tied a knot beneath 

to achieve the effect of an interesting inverted drape detail  :) 

this helped to hike up the length of the dress at the side plus gave me a hint of a waist, 
definitely beats having a sash tied around :)

it didn't feel like it was uncomfy cos it was just a tiny ball of scrunched up cloth at my hips.

and oh yes, 

not to mention, the knot was super secured.

 i didn't have to worry abt the rubber band coming undone throughout the night :)
